[ET Net News Agency, 20 January 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$97.23 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$17.42 billion, or 17.92% of the
market's turnover. There were 621 short-selling stocks. CSOP HS TECH (03033) and TRACKER
FUND (02800) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.58 billion and HK$1.49
billion, or 9.09% and 8.56% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 39.65% and 38.54% of respective stock's turnover.
MEITUAN-W (03690) and HSCEI ETF (02828) registered HK$1.39 billion and HK$1.27 billion
of short sales, accounting for 8% and 7.28% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 25.04% and 32.73% of respective stock's turnover.
CSOP HS TECH closed up HK$0.15, or 3.43%, to HK$4.528. TRACKER FUND ended up HK$0.49, or
2.48%, to HK$20.28. MEITUAN-W rose HK$10, or 6.77% to HK$157.8. HSCEI ETF jumped HK$1.78,
or 2.45%, to HK$74.5.
